Howdy all, looking forward to see what the forum has to offer.
I mostly shoot black powder, and member of Eagle Vally Muzzleloaders out of Carson City.
Don't get to hunt much but would love to change that.

Funny you mention black powder. I've got like 15 of the damn things with powder, lead balls, primers, patches , nipples, nipple wrenches, grease, powder flasks, powder measures etc ... ad nauseum.
Never pulled the trigger on any of them. I know nothing about black powder but I'd like to learn one day before I kick the bucket.
Too bad you're way up north in the hinderlands.

A shame to let good such good tool gather dust.

However I am in 'down time' at the moment as docs are prepping me for heart surgery BUT once done I will be back on my feet...plus we don't shoot here during Red Flag warnings and it tis that season.

If you haven't fired them and don't know about them; have someone of knowledge inspect them, never good to lose some fingers, a hand or worse!
BP is a wonderful and fascinating world!

I've got a Colt Walker I'd like to shoot. Big heavy thing. It looks unfired.
From research it was considered the magnum of the old west?

I have a Uberti Walker and boy is it fun to shoot. Big belches of smoke and flame. Gets everybody's attention at the range.

Eagle Valley Muzzleloaders is a historic reenactment club.
Mountain Man/Fur Trader ara from 1840 and back.
We all own BP revolvers but, no, they are not permitted during Club Shoots or annual Rendevous.
Percussion Rifle: Yes
Percussion Pistol: Yes
Revolvers: No

But folk sometimes bring them and stay after the shoot and shoot what ever they brought along.

**If your in need of a rifle (sometimes pistol) there is always someone with something to sell, even have a couple builders that drop in niw and then.

We also have a few local Americam Mountain Men members that hook up with us from time to time (that is a national club, strick rules, hard to get into, but otherwise nice folk)
