Who gets it right between Nevada and federal gun laws?

Living in Nevada, I've noticed the state laws are pretty gun-friendly, but federal rules still set limits that sometimes feel restrictive. Do you think Nevada should have more say, or should federal law always set the standard? I will like to know how fellow Nevadans and others see the balance here

For me, it feels like that never-ending tug-of-war, I see folks in rural spots wanting state law to stand alone, while folks in the cities lean toward federal standards. I’m stuck weighing freedom against safety

That's the tension exactly...rural versus urban perspectives really shape this debate. I struggle with it too. How do we honor both freedom and safety without one completely overriding the other?

One small suggestion which usually is workable if you are just taking a single handgun for protection. I many times when traveling out of state in a less gun friendly state will put the handgun in the glove box but move my registration and proof of insurance to the center console. That way if I do get pulled over for a traffic violation I don't have to open the glove compartment to get that stuff and risk it being visible.
