Bolt action or semi-auto for deer

I'm old school, use a bolt action. My buddy uses an AR-10. We argue about it every season. He says quick follow-up shots matter. I say one good shot is all you need. What do you guys actually hunt with?

When I hunt, I use a bolt-action .308. I've never needed a quick second shot. If I do my part, the deer doesn't run far. But my nephew uses an AR-10, and he nails them every time, too.

My couple of hunting guns are bolt actions.
I have a few semis I could use. The bolt guns are just more accurate
