Desert Eagles look incredible in photos with the all chrome and intimidation. In reality, they're finicky, heavy and the ammo costs as much as a car payment. Same with some of those fancy competition race guns covered in cuts and ports. Instagram loves them, but I'd take a bone-stock Glock that actually runs over a pretty gun that jams any day.

I had a buddy bring a flashy ported race gun once, it looked amazing online but it choked mid-mag while my plain Glock kept running.

A friend got a tricked-out 1911 and it jammed twice in the first mag. It looked gorgeous but was the least reliable gun there. Looking good doesn’t mean it runs good.
