I put a $800 scope on a $400 rifle

Some people say match your scope price to your rifle price. I say put good glass on whatever you got and cheap rifle shoots way better now. Is this backwards or does it actually make sense?

Depends, I have a couple Arken Optics Scopes on a couple rifles that were about half the guns cost
Have a couple other Scopes that were double the guns cost

Makes sense to me. Good glass matters more than price ratios, you can outshoot a cheap scope faster than a cheap rifle.

Works just fine. I have several with glass far more expensive than the rifle itself.
