I’m finally sorting my range bag and gun case, with mags, ear pro, a basic toolkit, bore snake, and snacks (obviously). What else do you toss in yours? Is there any gear you swear by or regret lugging around? Share your must-haves

My must-haves are: Trauma Kit/Tourniquet (non-negotiable), a stapler/targets, and a sharpie. I also keep a roll of electrical tape for patching targets on the fly...I skip the heavy spotting scope for handguns, decent binoculars are better.

Can’t hit the range without a stapler, spare targets, and way too many snacks (my kinda snacks)... priorities, man.

Main bag (one of Midway's medium bags):
  • 2 Pairs of Electronic muffs
  • Two extra sets of batteries
  • Small bag of foam plugs (I double up shooting from the bench and having spare foams for unexpected extra people who forget their muffs is always good)
  • Two pairs of shooting glasses
  • Various 2" to 8" adhesive targets
  • Black and red target pasties
  • AR-pattern 4 and 5 tooth front sight tool
  • AK sight tool
  • Compact cleaning kit
  • Small bottle of CLP
  • Multitool
  • Laser range finder
  • Baby wipes (don't laugh until you've tried it...great for dirty, gunky hands that may happen at the range and cleaning up for snack time :) )
  • Shooting gloves (2 different pairs)
  • Two hats (one gardener hat to keep sun off neck and one with all the foldy bits to keep the sun out of play in optics)
  • Microfiber beanie
  • Small freezer bag with printed copies of all of my tax stamps (you do you)
  • Some small dope pads / pen
  • Sharpie
  • Reading glasses (because old eyeballs and close things don't play well together)
  • IFAK
  • Brass bag
  • Some bore snakes (.22, .308, .338, 9mm, .45, 12 gauge)
  • I know there's more in there I'm forgetting...

Separate bag with:
  • Spotting scope
  • Mini tripod base
  • Custom bench/post 'bendy' clamp-on spotting scope base and adapter
  • Mini front rest
  • Rear bag
  • 4 wooden wedges (for wedging my target uprights in the base if it gets windy)

I'm usually bringing two bags and a bin that stays in my truck .... I don't know how anybody can just bring one bag to the range

But I'm usually bringing 4-10 guns with me

This is an impressive setup!

I totally get that, two bags plus a truck bin is basically a mobile armory and the only way to stay organized
