Trying to figure out my elk tag wish list.

Anyone else putting in for elk this year? Do you strategize your choices?

Oh yeah, half strategy, half luck. You study draw odds for weeks then let the tag gods decide.

I drew archery last year 081. Just depends what you’re expecting out of it. The tougher hunts are easier to get.

 Getting a Nevada elk tag is really more like a game of chess. I usually weigh my options, looking at the odds of drawing versus how good the trophy potential is and then I just accept that most of it comes down to pure luck.

Feels like strategy matters until the draw reminds you luck is running the board and you’re just along for it
