How tough are brass frame revolvers really?

I've heard plenty of talk that brass frame revolvers can warp or stretch out if you shoot them too much or push heavy loads. Some say it's a problem, others say it's overblown, has anyone here actually put serious rounds through one and noticed real wear?

I've run thousands of rounds through a brass-frame revolver with hotter loads, I saw minor throat and cylinder-gap wear over years, but never catastrophic warping. I keep loads mild and inspect regularly too

From what I've seen, brass frames can handle regular loads fine, but hot handloads or constant rapid shooting will show wear faster. Most people exaggerate the risk unless you're really pushing limits

Thanks for sharing , that aligns with what I've heard. Minor wear seems normal with heavy shooting, but careful load management and regular inspection really keep a brass-frame revolver safe and reliable long-term

Agreed...for standard factory loads, brass frames hold up well. It's really only under sustained hot loads that wear becomes noticeable, so most warnings are a bit overblown
