Teaching someone to hunt is harder than I thought

I took a friend on his first hunt and explaining everything I do was tough which made me realize how much I just do by instinct now. Have you taught anyone to hunt?

Just my kids.

But while working at an oil refinery (about 2 miles square) with a fair amount of wildlife on it, while working in one of the more remount corners on a large compressor, we spotted a red fox. I told my partner, I'd bring my predator call the next day. so, the next morning, while waiting for the operator to show up, and give us a work permit (A safety requirement) I blew my call, and she came a running, my partner started screaming like a little girl! I tried to hush him up, and told him I'd get her in the truck with us if he'd just shut up....But no dice... I't became very evident, he wasn't a hunter...

Having to teach someone made me slow down and explain wind, animal tracks, and patience. It reminded me that hunting is something you learn, not something you're born knowing.
