Old gear and new gear

Was old gear actually better or are we just nostalgic? I hear people say things were built tougher decades ago, what's this community's take?

Some old gear lasted pretty long, but new gear fits me better, works better and I trust the materials now.

Older gear could last but modern gear fits better and uses improved materials that earn trust through real-world testing

That’s an honest take. Survivorship bias makes old gear seem legendary but plenty was junk
